Australian Schools 3x3Hustle is BACK!

Basketball Australia & 3x3Hustle are excited to host the Australian Schools 3x3Hustle in conjunction with the Australian Schools Championships.

All teams registered to the Australian School Championships will receive free entry to the 3x3Hustle AND receive a FREE 3x3Hustle Rookie Pass.

Date: Sunday 1 December, 2019
Time: 12pm registration, games from 12:30pm -5pm
Location: State Basketball Centre, 291 George Street Wantirna South
Cost: FREE for teams playing in Australian School Championships. Otherwise $60 per team. All players must also have a valid 3x3 Rookie Pass.

Divisions: Male & Female - Under-15, Under-17 & Under-20. Age cut-offs listed below.

Winning teams will automatically qualify through to the  NBL 3×3 Big Hustle National Championships in March 2020.

FAQ's

What is the age group cut offs?
The age groups are the same as the for the Australian School Championships.

Under-20: players must be aged 19 years and younger as at 31 December 2019 – born 2000 or later
Under-17: players must be aged 16 years and younger as at 31 December 2019 – born 2003 or later
Under-15: players must be aged 14 years and younger as at 31 December 2019 – born 2005 or later

Will there be divisions in each age group?
Initially there will only be one division in each age group. If registration numbers are high separate divisions may be created.

Can my school enter more than one team in the same age group?
Absolutely! We definitely encourage schools to enter more than one team to allow all their athletes the opportunity to participate.

Do all players have to be from the same school?
Yes. In line with the concept of a School’s Hustle, all students should attend or have attended the same school for 2019.

We’re not playing in the Australian School Championships, can we still enter a team?
Absolutely. The Australian Schools 3x3 Hustle is open to all secondary schools in Australia.

Can we register students that aren’t playing in the Australian School Championships?
Absolutely. The Australian Schools 3x3 Hustle is open to all secondary school students in Australia. However, if you are not playing in the Australian School Championships you will need to purchase a Hustle Pass (minimum Rookie level) to ensure you are covered by insurance.

How many games will we play?
The number of games will depend on the number of teams registered to the division. Teams should expect to play a minimum of four games across the afternoon.

When will finals take place?
Finals will take place from 4pm on Sunday 1 December, 2019.

When do we find out the fixture?
The fixture will be released no later than 3 days prior to the event.

How long are the games?
Games are 10 minutes in length or until a team reaches 21 points. If scores are tied at the end of 10 minutes, the first team to score 2 points in overtime will be declared the winner.

What uniforms do we wear?
Teams can wear their school basketball uniform. Bibs will be provided for any clashes.

When do I need to register by?
Teams will need to complete their registration by 25 November, 2019 to secure their place in the Australian Schools 3x3Hustle.

Are referees and scorers provided?
Yes, all referees and scorers will be provided.

What is a Hustle Pass?
The Hustle Pass is your annual membership to play in any 3x3Hustle endorsed event in Australia. It also provides you with your medical gap insurance for any 3x3Hustle endorsed event.

Do I need to create a FIBA 3x3 Profile?
