Shawn Russell, known as ‘The Huss’, began playing wheelchair basketball in 2003 and now at the age of 32 says he has never looked back. The Australian Rollers have had a positive start on their road to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, with back-to-back wins against Korea and Thailand at the 2019 Asia Oceania Championships.
Basketball Australia, along with Basketball Victoria, will be holding free wheelchair basketball clinics in Geelong and Warrnambool on December 2 and 3.
The Australian Rollers have selected their team for the 2019 Asia-Oceania Championships to be held in Pattaya, Thailand from the 27 November to December 8, 2019.
