The Australian Emus U19 men’s basketball team left for Mannheim, Germany at the weekend ahead of the 26th Annual Albert Schweitzer Tournament. The tournament will take place 7th-14th April. In 2009 the Emus won the 25th Annual Albert Schweitzer Tournament by going 4-1 in group playing, defeating U17 Germany 75-53 in the semi-finals, and beating U18 Germany 68-51 in the finals. Headlining this year’s team are rising stars Emmett Naar (NSW/AIS) and Dane Pineau (VIC), whose father Brad played for the Melbourne Tigers.
