That squad will head to Basketball Australia's Centre of Excellence (CoE) for a selection camp on June 4-7 from which 12 players will be selected to represent Australia at the World Championships.

The Gems advanced through the FIBA Oceania tournament late last year to qualify for the World Champs and eleven players who were present at the 107-52 gold medal victory over New Zealand remain in the squad.

Rounding out the rest of the team are Chelsea Brook and Anneli Maley who competed in the 2016/17 WNBL season, CoE athlete Rebecca Pizzey and Morgan Yaegar from the University of Oregon.

The draw for the Under-19 World Championships has already been confirmed with the Gems drawn into Group D.

The Gems will be aiming to get on the podium for the third straight time after winning bronze medals in 2015 and 2013 while they were also silver medalists in 1997 and gold medalists in 1993.
