The Gems (currently ranked 7th in the world) will face Hungary, ranked 14th, and Japan, ranked 11th, in the pool stage as well as a yet-to-be determined country from the Americas.

Australia's appearance at the World Championships follows their gold-medal winning performance late last year in the FIBA Under-18 Oceania Championships.

There, they won by an average margin of over 100 points through the tournament including a 55-point victory over New Zealand in the final.

While the team for this year's Championships have not been confirmed, they are sure to take confidence from last year's Under-17 World Championships title, of which eight members were a part of the Gems qualifying team.

Australia have won the bronze medal at the past two tournaments while also securing the gold in 1993 with players such as Alanna Smith, Lauren Scherf, Steph Talbot, Carley Mijovic, Sally Phillips, Kristi Harrower and Jenny Whittle representing the Gems in the past.

The times for the tournament will be confirmed once the teams are finalised but you can find a current schedule below.
