U17 MEN COMPLETE WORLD CHAMPS WARM-UP TOUR

The Australian Under-17 men have concluded their fortnight long tour of China with a win over the host nation.

Playing against the Under-17 Chinese team, Australia overcame a poor start to run out convincing 76-64 victors.

Trailing by 14 points at quarter-time, the visitors had one of their most productive periods for the tour with a 26-point second quarter and by three-quarter time, they had opened up a six-point lead.

They then held off a fast-finishing Chinese team with the crowd behind them to finish the whirlwind expedition in style.

"The tour has been a tremendous learning experience," said U17's men's team manager Jason Membrey.

"Playing nine international games in 10 days has provided positive preparations in the lead up to the World Championships and the team is looking forward to returning home to focus on our World Champs campaign."

With the pool games beginning on June 22, Australia will continue their preparation with another week-long pre-World Cup tour in Spain.
