Following an 8-2 record through the regular season of the EuroCup, Gran Canaria breezed through the Round of 32 with five wins from six games.

This pitted them against Limoges in the next round where they took the first game, 82-65.

Newley shot a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc for 15 points and two steals while playing 22 minutes.

A week later, Gran Canaria was unable to sweep the series but a one-point loss was enough for them to advance based on aggregate point differential.

Newley came off the bench in that clash but still recorded 13 points with three rebounds while drilling another three three-pointers.

Gran Canaria again set themselves up nicely in Game 1 of the Quarter-Finals against Stelmet Zielona Góra, winning 93-82.

Leading by 12 points at three-quarter time in Game 2, Gran Canaria looked to have the series sewn up but a furious finish from Stelmet ZG saw them record 28 points in the final period. It secured the victory for them but they were unable to atone for Game 1, losing the aggregate point differential by eight.

Newley was quiet during the series, averaging 5.5 points while starting both games.

He will now be preparing for Galatasaray who have also been unable to sweep any series during the EuroCup finals.

Going beyond the Quarter-Finals for the second consecutive time (and only the second time in their club history) Gran Canaria are potentially a month away from securing their first ever EuroCup Championship with Strasbourg or Dolomiti Energia Trento awaiting them if they defeat Galatasaray.
