Walker and Ruef headline in the seventh week of competition.

ROUND 7 SEABL MEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lucas Walker – Dandenong Rangers

Lucas Walker’s outing against his former team, Ballarat, at the Minerdome sees him take out SEABL Men’s Player of the Week honours for Round 7.

In Dandenong’s 101-90 road win, Walker was the most dominant player on the floor with 32 points at 11-16 shooting from the field, along with five rebounds and two assists.

Walker came out firing early, scoring nine points in the first quarter, also replicating this form out of halftime with 11 points in the third.

On Sunday against Hobart, Walker played second fiddle to import Daequon Montreal, but still flirted with a triple double finishing with 10 points, seven assists and seven rebounds in their 83-81 win.

Walker averages 14.8 points and nine rebounds in his first season with the Rangers, also leading the team in assists with 3.3 per contest.

- New Frankston import Eric Williams scorched the net for a second-straight week with 40 points in 41 minutes including nine three-pointers as his Blues’ lost by a point in overtime against North-West Tasmania. Nathan Wilson almost went point for point with Williams finishing with 35 and 10 rebounds.

- Albury-Wodonga’s Cory Dixon put up big numbers again with 34 points and 14 rebounds in the Bandits’ win over Hobart Chargers on Saturday night while Donte Nicholas added 28 points and nine rebounds.

- BA Centre of Excellence guard Dejan Vasiljevic and Nunawading veteran Shane McDonald were both on-song in their clubs’ shootout at AIS Training Hall on Sunday with Vasiljevic knocking down 28 points while McDonald enjoyed a 26-point, 11-assist outing as BA COE took a 100-98 overtime win.

- Dandenong import Daequon Montreal hit top-gear on Sunday with 35 points in 34 minutes as his Rangers’ snuck past Hobart Chargers.

ROUND 7 SEABL WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mikaela Ruef – Launceston Tornadoes

Mikaela Ruef has led Launceston to two road wins over Frankston and Kilsyth in Round 7, securing her as the SEABL Women’s Player of the Week for this round.

Ruef had two big double-doubles for the Tornadoes, with 22 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block against Frankston on Saturday night, shooting the ball at 71 per cent from the field.

This was backed up on Sunday against the in-form Kilsyth Cobras with 29 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in their 88-76 upset victory.

Ruef is the league’s leading rebounder averaging 12.5, while contributing 15.5 points and four assists per game.

The Tornadoes currently sit in fourth spot of the South Conference with a 5-4 record.

- Frankston star Kelly Bowen had a bumper offensive night for the Lady Blues with a season-high 42 points against Launceston

- Hobart Lady Chargers’ pair Amy Kame scored 27 points and Klara Wisher added 20 points and 10 rebounds in their club’s win over Albury-Wodonga.

- Dandenong Rangers centre Jacinta Kennedy is making double-doubles a regular occurrence with 21 points and 11 rebounds in 23 minutes as her club beat Ballarat.
