The U20’s Championship will feature a change of format from recent years, with each team scheduled to face each other once in a round-robin style format. The format is a variant from recent years of pool play.
The tournament will begin on Sunday 22nd February, with Queensland and Tasmania starting things off at 11AM in the U20’s Men’s Division. The opening ceremony will take place the same evening, in which all participants and officials will gather at centre court to officially kick start the Championship.
The Ivor Burge championships will commence the following day, with 8 men’s teams and 5 women’s scheduled to compete in a fierce field of competition. The men’s division will also feature a team from Japan, who will face the Australian Boomerangs at the completion of the Ivor Burge Championships.
For those unable to attend the day activities, evening passes are available for purchase at the door, with the powerhouse hometown Victorian teams set to be a prominent feature of the evening clashes. The Victorian men’s team will feature Australian representatives including Dejan Vasiljevic (reigning National Junior Player of the Year), Abi Akintola, Tom Wilson, Jack White and Matt Owies.
Our full Championships preview will be released later this week.
Passes can be purchased online here.
