Watch Jayco Opals stars Erin Phillips and Penny Taylor in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals LIVE on ESPN2 from 10:00am AEST on Saturday 13 September.

Coming off a dominant 83-62 win to open the WNBA Finals, the Mercury were again at their best for Game 2, recording a 29-point victory in front of a raucous home crowd as Phillips and Taylor did their bit to ensure the end result would be in favour of the title favourites.

Taylor had her best game of the post-season, posting a brilliant stat line of 14 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals in 25 minutes, with the 33-year-old hitting top form with the Jayco Opals World Championship around the corner.

After missing the nearly all of the 2012 and 2013 WNBA season, Taylor has enjoyed an uninterrupted campaign playing 33 regular season games and all 7 playoff contests, with her numbers reflecting the improved play.

The 2006 FIBA World Championship for Women MVP has increased her production across the board in the post season, improving her averages in points, rebounds, assists, steals and field goal percentage.

Already a two-time WNBA Champion in Phoenix, Taylor looks on track to add a third title to a trophy cabinet bursting with Olympic and World Championship medals.

For Phillips a return to the biggest stage in the WNBA tends to bring out the best in her game, with the 29-year-old stepping up in Game 2 to provide 7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 22 minutes.

A memorable performance in the 2012 WNBA Finals saw Phillips play a leading role in the Indiana Fever claiming the Championship – setting a new Finals three-point shooting record.
