The Australian Schools Championships are the best and biggest basketball tournament for schools across the nation and certainly the largest event on the Australian Junior Championship calendar.
In the past, the Australian Schools Championships have brought some of our brightest talent to the fore – including stars who have gone onto phenomenal international success such as Lauren Jackson, Patty Mills, Kristi Harrower and Mark Worthington.
In 2013, more than 1500 athletes from right across Australia came together to compete within a wide range of age and ability levels – including Boomers rising star Dante Exum – showcasing the very diversity which makes this event such a success for school sport.
The dates for these upcoming Australian Schools Championships to be held across the AIS, Belconnen and Tuggeranong will be:
2014: 1-5 December; and
2015: 30 November – 4 December.
Basketball Australia would like to congratulate BACT on their strong interest in and successful tender for these championships – we look forward to a truly unique experience in our nation’s capital.
