The Australian men easily accounted for Papua New Guinea 93-35, while the Australian women posted a remarkable 97-6 win over Guam.
Coming into the tournament as favourites, the Australian men wasted no time asserting themselves on the opening day of action, racing to a 26-6 quarter time lead.
The one-way traffic continued as the Australians cruised to a 58-point victory, with New South Welshman Kai Healy posting a game-high 18 points (7-of-11 FG) to go with five rebounds in 23 minutes.
Tasmanian duo Tanner Krebs (14 points) and Kai Woodfall (12 points and three assists) provided support, along with Geremy McKay (13 points and four rebounds) and Rhys Vague (10 points and four rebounds).
It was a dramatically one-sided affair for the Australian women as they established a 32-4 lead at quarter time, before keeping their opponents to scoreless after half time.
Dandenong Rangers WNBL player Lauren Scherf led the way for the Australians, posting a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Kristy Wallace had 18 points and Brodie Theodore had 17 points in the rout.
Friday see the women take on New Caledonia, while the men face Guam.
