EOI for Australian U19 Men's & Women's team staff now open

Basketball Australia is seeking Expressions of Interest for staff positions for the 2015 Australian U19 Men’s and Women’s teams.

FIBA World U19 Championships are held each two years with a FIBA Oceania Championship the year prior to the World Championship. After a successful campaign in 2013 for both the Emus (4th) and the Gems (3rd), Basketball Australia is now preparing the next crop of young players who are attending the Australian Development Camp in January 2014. Some of the identified athletes will be participating in the FIBA Oceania Pacific Championships in New Zealand from November 28 to December 4.

Basketball Australia is therefore looking to appoint the following positions for both the U19 Women (Gems) and U19 Men (Emus) before the end of the year: Assistant Coaches, Team Managers, Physiotherapists, and Doctors.

The program in 2014 will include 2 Camps, a potential tour and the FIBA Oceania U19 Championships from which a team will qualify for the 2015 World Championships.

The term of appointment will be effective 30 January 2014 until 30 August 2015 – subject to Australia qualifying for the 2015 World Championships.

Expressions of Interest should include a resume and short cover letter detailing experience and experience working with this age group as well as noting which roles and teams might be of interest.

The expressions of interest will close on Sunday 24th November and Basketball Australia may hold interviews for the positions after that date.
