Aussies Abroad: Ingles shines in battle of Boomers

Australian Boomers star Joe Ingles got the better of his national team teammate Aleks Maric as the two did battle in Round Three of the Euroleague season.

After a slow start to the season in all competitions for Ingles and his Maccabi Tel-Aviv team, they produced their best performance of the campaign, defeating Lokomotiv Kuban 73-58. Ingles played 38 minutes on his way to 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists, while Maric came off the bench to post 7 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks in 23 minutes.

The perfect start to the Spanish ACB season has continued for Brad Newley and his Gran Canaria, easily accounting for CB Canarias 79-61 to improve their record to 4-0 and second on the table.

Daniel Kickert was again a leading light for Ukrainian outfit Azovmash, posting 16 points and 7 rebounds in their VTB League win over BC Astana 80-79.

Marianna Tolo helped Bourges Basket remain undefeated in French LFB action, posting 12 points and 8 rebounds in their 68-54 victory over Mondeville to improve their record to 6-0.

Ryan Broekhoff had 7 points and 4 rebounds as his Besiktas team stumbled to another Turkish Basketball League defeat, going down 84-77 to Karsiyaka.

Andrew Bogut has helped the Golden State Warriors to strong start to the NBA season, posting 6 points and 6 rebounds in the latest win over Sacramento 98-87 on Sunday.
