Andrej Lemanis to present at 2014 Tasman Coaches Clinic

Australian Boomers Head Coach Andrej Lemanis has been confirmed as the guest presenter for the 14th Annual Tasman Coaches Clinic to be held in January as part of the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup at Albury.

The Tasman Coaches Clinic is held each year in conjunction with the ACJBC and provides coaches from regional New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand with a quality development opportunity.

Lemanis will be the guest presenter for the 2014 clinic and will also spend time talking and meeting with regional coaches from participating programs.

New South Wales Basketball Country Association Liaison Manager and clinic organiser Scott Balsar said the announcement of Lemanis as guest speaker was a significant coup for country coaches.

“To again have a coach with the calibre of Andrej agree to present at the clinic is exciting news and will be a significant bonus for the coaches who attend from regional Australia and New Zealand,” Balsar said.

“The organisers of the clinic and the directors of the ACJBC are looking forward to hosting Andrej, as no doubt the 150-plus coaches who will be attending the clinic are.”

The 2014 Tasman Coaches Clinic will be held at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre on Monday, January 13, 7.00pm – 9.00pm, and is open to all coaches participating in the ACJBC, along with any coach interested in attending. The clinic is free.

In its fourteenth year, the clinic has featured the likes of Patrick Hunt, Dean Kinsman, Gary Fox, Tab Baldwin, Rex Nottage, Shawn Dennis, Marty Clarke, Damian Cotter, Jan Stirling, Guy Molloy, Ian Stacker and Brendan Joyce as presenters and continues to be a key part of the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup.

The clinic is a combined initiative of Basketball New South Wales, Basketball Victoria Country, South Australia Country, with ongoing support from the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup.
