Basketball Australia today released the full 2013/14 WNBL schedule, which features all nine teams playing 24 home-and-away games throughout the regular season.
Opening night will see Townsville host Bendigo at the Townsville RSL Stadium as the Fire look to settle the score following their Grand Final defeat at the hands of the Spirit, who claimed the WNBL premiership following a thrilling 71-57 win during last season’s title game.
On Saturday night, the Adelaide Lightning will host the West Coast Waves at Adelaide Arena, while Dandenong Rangers host the Logan Thunder at Dandenong Stadium - with both games tipping off at 7:30pm.
Capping off round one, the Sydney Uni Flames face a first-up road double as they head south to play the Melbourne Boomers (formerly Bulleen) at the State Basketball Centre at Knox, with the Melbourne Boomers having this week announced their new name, venue and colours.
The Bendigo Spirit will raise their championship banner in front of their home crowd at the Bendigo Stadium in round two, when they take on Adelaide at 7:30pm on Friday 11 October.
The 2013/14 regular season will boast 19 rounds, running through until Saturday 15 February 2014.
The 2014 WNBL Finals Series will commence on Saturday 22 February, with the Preliminary and Grand Final games to take place in early March.
