Euroleague awaits for Snell

Jayco Australian Opals star Belinda Snell and her CCC Polkowice team continue to take all before them, with the Euroleague quarter finals the next hurdle.

Already into the semi-finals of the PLKK Play-offs (Polish women’s league) after a 3-0 clean sweep of Widzew, Snell and her teammates now turn their attention to next week, where they will play three games in as many days to determine if they advance to final four.

Snell has been outstanding on the Euroleague stage this campaign, averaging 15.9 points on 48% shooting from the field as Polkowice has breezed through the early stages of the competition.

Fellow Poland-based Aussie Erin Phillips continued her outstanding form for Wisla Can-Pak, almost registering a triple-double in the 71-56 win over Gorzow to put her team within one win of a PLKK semi-final berth.

Phillips had 8 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists in the win, with the WNBA Champion averaging 12 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists in her five games back in Europe.

In Hungry Natalie Hurst continued her outstanding season, putting up 13 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds in Uni Gyor’s crushing defeat at the hands of league-leading Good Angels 84-57.

Abby Bishop’s Perpignan slipped further back in the race for the LFB French league title, going down 71-55 to Arras. The Opals star had 13 points to go with 3 steals and now must refocus ahead of a Round 23 battle with Lyon.

Aix-en-Province (10-12 in LFB France) snatched a much-needed win against Union Hainaut with a score of 70-65. Aussie twin towers Marianna Tolo and Cayla Francis each collected double-doubles in the win.

Tolo scored 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds in 39 minutes of play. Francis scored 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and also grabbed 11 rebounds in 31 minutes of play. Both players each grabbed 8 defensive rebounds and 3 offensive rebounds.
