Snell and Phillips prepare for Polish Play-offs

It was an Aussie v Aussie battle in Poland as Erin Phillips and Belinda Snell went head-to-head in Polish league competition as the teams now head into PLKK Play-Off action.

Snell’s top-placed CCC Polkowice ensured they would finish the regular season on top of the standings, defeating Phillips’ Wisla Can-Pak 75-61 to finish the season with a 17-1 record heading into the post-season.

Coming off a game-high 26 points in her second game back in Poland, Phillips had 8 points and 5 rebounds in the final regular season game, while Snell – who is the PLKK sixth-ranked scorer – had 8 points and 3 assists.

The two Aussies now head into Play-Off mode with the Quarter Final stage seeing Phillips’ team face Gorzow and Snell take on Widzew in a best-of-five game series.

Elsewhere Abby Bishop and her Perpignan team prepare for a LFB French League clash with Villeneuve this weekend, with the former Adelaide Lightning star hoping to help their side build on their 13-6 record.

In Hungary Natalie Hurst is hoping to help her Uni Gyor team rebound after a heavy Euroleague loss to Fenerbahce mid-week when they face the Turkish club in the second leg of their second round tie.
