Aussie playmaker Patty Mills led all scorers with 21 points in 22 minutes, shooting 5-7 from down town. Aleks Maric was next best with 17 points and seven rebounds.
For Greece, Nikolaos Pappas finished with 17 points, while Georgios Bogris added 15 points.
Head coach Brett Brown said that the young Greek team was likely to give the Boomers just the challenge they needed to continue their progress, and they got exactly that, the young Greeks taking it to the Boomers early.
Although the Boomers were quick out of the blocks, jumping out to a quick 6-0 lead, the two sides traded buckets for the rest of the quarter, the Boomers leading 22-15 at the first break, with Patty Mills giving the crowd what they had come to see early in the game.
The Greeks again took it to the Aussies early in the second term, before a Patty Mills three-pointer broke the game open for the Boomers, jumping out to a 15 point lead before settling to a 13 point buffer at the half.
Greece continued to test the Boomers, but much like the first half, the Aussies continued to find scorers and stops, stretching the lead to 20 going into the last term.
Brown continued to run the full squad in the fourth, playing the full list as the coaches continue to look for the most effective combinations on the floor. Despite contributions form Mills, Barlow, Ingles and Gibson, it were the Aussie bigs who saw the game out in the final term, with Maric and Baynes working inside to the see the lead out to 27 at full time.
The series now shifts to Knox and the new State Basketball Centre, which will host its first international game of basketball before a sell-out stadium tomorrow night.
