Pooled with USA, France and the Czech Republic, along with Egypt and China, the Aussies will need to finish in the top four of their group to advance to the quarter finals. From there, they will need to remain perfect to advance to the semi finals and ultimately, the Gold Medal game.
The team ended the 2010 World Championship with a sixth-place finish, a strong result, but one that head coach Guy Molloy feels that they can improve on.
The 2012 FIBA U17 Men’s World Championship will be held in Lithuania from 29 June – 8 July.
