Jarry recovering well from city attack on weekend

Young basketball star and member of the Jayco Opals squad and Bulleen Boomers WNBL team, Rachel Jarry, is shaken but recovering well after being assaulted and robbed in the Melbourne CBD on Saturday night.

Jarry was walking with a friend after leaving a Melbourne bar, before being surrounded and attacked.

After taking her wallet, phone and keys, it was reported today, Jarry and her friend were both set upon, punched and kicked repeatedly, before the offenders fled.

"I still can't believe it happened. I feared for my life," Jarry told The Age newspaper.

"Once we got out of it and I realised nothing was broken, I knew I'd be alright," she said.

It is reported that the perpetrators attacked another group over the course the night, with an 18 year old women being arrested and remanded in custody, while a 16 and 17 year old boy along with an 19 year old man were all arrested but released pending further questioning.
