Competing without star players and 2010 World Championship team members Justin Eveson, Shaun Norris, Dylan Alcott and Jeremy Doyle, the opportunity arose for some of the younger Australian athletes to compete against the best wheelchair athletes in the world from leading nations the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany and Japan.
The Rollers started the tournament well with a 75-61 victory over Japan, but were defeated in their next three contests, going down to Canada 67-52, Great Britain 75-70 and USA Blue 66-52.
The Rollers were not helped by the fact that player Nick Taylor was lost to the team prior to the games commencing due to an infection that saw him spend time in hospital.
Australia secured their second win of the tournament with a five point victory, 60-55 over Germany, before finishing the pool games with a narrow loss to USA White.
In the round of finals, Australia again faced Germany, with the Rollers taking out a three point victory, 64-61 to end the tournament on a high.
