AIS Men's Basketball team heads to China

The Australian Institute of Sport Men’s basketball team departed for China this week ahead of a 17-day camp where they will play games against teams from China, USA and Spain.

The team, led by head coach Ian Stacker, includes many of Australia’s rising stars, including stand-outs from this year’s U18 Australian Junior Championship Mirko Djeric from NSW Metro and Dante Exum from VIC Metro along with rising star Owen Odigie.

The first leg of the tour sees the side travel to Zunyi, Guizhou Province. In their first game, which tips off tonight, the Aussies will match-up against the team from China. They will then play USA on Saturday, before facing off with the Spanish side on Sunday.

The tour then shifts to Pingguo, Guangxi Province where the Aussies will face off against all three teams again, before concluding the trip in Yili, Xinjiang Province for the final three match-ups.

The side will return home on the 19 June.
