Jackson signs with Spanish club Ros Casares Valencia

Australian Opal Lauren Jackson will re-establish her successful European playing career after signing on to play with Spanish club Ros Casares Valencia in the 2011/12 season.

Jackson headlines a star-studded list of recruits joining the Spanish club which has them tipped as the early favourite to take out the Euroleague Women’s title.

Joining Jackson, the reigning WNBA MVP, will be fellow WNBA number one overall draft picks, Belgium’s Ann Wauters (2000) and the USA’s Maya Moore (2011), one of the most celebrated College players in US history.

"This could be our best-ever team in club history," said Ros Casares president German Ros.

"We will see. We have done it with this idea but that's not to say that in the past, we haven't had great teams and we have to respect them.

"But this is a very, very good team."
