Boomerangs seek new Head Coach as Peter Corr steps down

The Australian Basketball team for Athletes with an Intellectual Disability, the Boomerangs, are in search of a new Head Coach, following the decision of long-serving leader, Peter Corr, to step down from the role.

Corr has led the Boomerangs side since 2001, and has decided not to continue, opening up a great opportunity for an incumbent coach to lead the program into the next phase of development.

The appointed coach will join Assistant George Havakis and Team Manager Kevin Smith as they lead the program into the upcoming 3rd INAS-FID Global Games, this year held in Liguria, Italy from September 24 – October 4.

In 2009, the Boomerangs finished fifth at the Global Games tournament, then held in the Czech Republic, and are looking to go better at the upcoming tournament and bring home a medal for Australia.

Basketball Australia would like to acknowledge the outstanding contribution that Peter Corr has made to the program over a long period of time and wishes him all the best in his career.
