Rollers trounce Algeria at Worlds

The Rollers won their third consecutive game at the 2010 IWBF World Wheelchair Basketball Championship overnight in Birmingham, England.

Establishing a 17-point lead in the opening quarter, the Rollers were never challenged by the Algerians, cruising to the 92-44 victory.

The Australians turned in their most dominant performance of the year, with all 12 players making great contributions in the team effort.

Australia’s Justin Eveson was the standout performer, converting 10-of-12 from the field to finish with a game high 26 points. He also tallied a game high seven rebounds to go with four assists.

Shaun Norris had another double-double with 12 points and 10 assists, as well as a game high three steals.

The Australians had a tremendous shooting game, going for 60 percent from the field throughout the game led by Tristan Knowles who was 100 percent from the field including 3-of-3 baskets from beyond the arc, finishing with 19 points.

The Rollers set up the win in the opening quarter, leading 27-10 at the first break, and they were never headed, stretching the lead in each term.
