The Storm bench players put on a good show but their team went down 84-75 on the road to Chicago Sky in the Sky’s first win of the season.
Jayco Opal Bishop entered the game in the fourth quarter when the result was already in the bag for Chicago. Despite the score, the WNBA rookie made the most of her 10 minutes of court time to nail a three-pointer, register her first assist and grab one rebound in just her second appearance in the league.
With the Storm down 10 points with two minutes remaining, Lacey drove to the basket and, drawing the foul, was sent to the line where she converted both free throws to register her first WNBA points and bring the deficit back to eight. Playing her fifth game in the league, the Canberra-born guard also dished her first WNBA assist and was on court for a career high eight minutes and 30 seconds.
Bishop’s Jayco Opals teammate Lauren Jackson lived up to her WNBA Player of the Week title to lead Seattle with a 15 point, 11 rebound double-double.
