Basketball Australia wishes to extend its sincere condolences to the family and friends of the late Don Pollock.

Don passed away at the Karinya Palliative Care Centre in Berry yesterday after a long battle with cancer.

A secondary school teacher by trade who taught in Cooma, Oak Flats, Balgowlah and Coonabarabran before running a car dealership in Nowra, Don also made a significant contribution to basketball.

As well as becoming President of the Coonabarabran and Shoalhaven Basketball Assocations, Don was also President of Basketball NSW for 8 years from the late 90s to the early naughties and also held a position on the Basketball NSW Board.

He was also BNSW’s representative on the Basketball Australia Council from 1999-2006 and was a Director on the Basketball Australia Board from 2002-2006.

Don is survived by his daughter, Bronwyn, and his son, Ben.

Don’s funeral will take place at the Shoalhaven City Crematorium (Worrigee Road, Worrigee, via South Nowra) at 2pm on Monday January 25th.
