There was more Opals action in Europe overnight as Beijing Olympians Erin Phillips and Hollie Grima hit the floor.

Erin Phillips’ Polish side Lotos Gydnia upset fellow Opal Hollie Grima’s Czech Republic club Frisco Sika Brno on Thursday night to breathe life into their EuroLeague Women campaign.

After a difficult two weeks which saw prominent players Alana Beard, Paulina Pawlak and Emilija Podrug depart the club, the Gdynia outfit regrouped and beat the Czech giants 77-73 with a gritty effort.

Phillips scored 16 points in the matchup, draining 3-of-6 attempts from beyond the arc. The Olympian added an equal game high eight points and added seven rebounds, and a steal.

Frisco slipped to a 5-4 win-loss record with the defeat while Gdynia improved to 3-6 and moved into fourth place.

Grima scored six points to go with five rebounds, two steals and two assists in the loss.
