U14 Club Championships just a week away

The U14 club championships are only a week away with the U14 Boys Club champs tipping off on Sunday September 20 in Dandenong before the U14 Girls from Monday September 28 in Perth.

Twenty-four boys teams will descend on Dandenong Basketball Stadium to battle for the title; with 2008 champions Werribee from Victoria not in the hunt this year, a new team will get the chance to claim the championship.

The boys will be competing for the Ken Watson Trophy, which will be awarded at the closing ceremony on Saturday September 26.

Twenty-four teams will also be competing at the U14 Girls Club Championship, hosted by Basketball Western Australia at Perry Lakes Stadium, home of WNBL side, the Perth Lynx.

The girls will contest the championship from September 28 – October 3, coinciding with the Perth Lynx’s first game of the 2009/10 WNBL season on October 2.

Bulleen Boomers were the 2008 champions and they will be in the running to take out the Michele Timms Trophy again in 2009.
