Andersen lifts Barcelona to third in Euroleague final

Boomers forward David Andersen starred for Regal FC Barcelona overnight, with the dual Olympian scoring a game-high 20 points to lead his Spanish club side to third place in the prestigious 2009 Euroleague Final Four.

Andersen shot 5-of-7 field goals and 3-of-5 three-pointers to lift Barcelona to a 95-79 victory over Greece’s Olympiacos, just 48 hours after he registered a team high 24 points in an 82-78 loss to his former team CSKA Moscow.

Greece’s Panathinaikos defeated CSKA 73-71 to take the title.

Andersen was the highest scorer in the Euroleague Final Four with a 22-points per game average and ranked second in efficiency behind Olympiacos’ US import guard Lynn Greer.

Andersen averaged 11.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game in 23 Euroleague games this season for Barcelona.
