A cut on the elbow has ruled Darnell Mee out of the Boomers team facing Iran in Perth tonight.
Mee sustained the injury in a fall at a Boomers’ training camp earlier this month and aggravated the wound at training on Saturday and has been withdrawn from the game as a precautionary measure.
He will be replaced by South Dragons young gun Joe Ingles, who debuted with the Boomers in China in 2007.
The opening game of the Boomers World Challenge between Australia and Iran at Challenge Stadium in Perth will tip off at 7:00pm, which is 9:00pm in the eastern states.
The series moves to Adelaide on Wednesday and concludes in Melbourne on Friday.
