Basketball Australia will be competing in the men’s and women’s 2008 FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament which will be held from 29 September to 4 October, Guam.
Basketball Australia will send a team of 10 male and 10 female athletes together with a Head Coach for each team, Assistant Coach for each team, a Physiotherapist and Head of Delegation/Team Manager that would manage both teams.
The FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament is an excellent opportunity for our 2011 U/19 Men’s and Women’s squads – the Emus and the Gems – to be provided with international competition.
The Basketball Federations of Fiji, Guam, Marshall Islands, New Caledonia, Northern Marianas, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Vanuatu will compete in the 2008 event.
Basketball Australia is calling for expressions of interest for the following positions:
Head Coach for Men & Women
Assistant Coach for Men & Women
Head of Delegation/Team Manager
Expressions of Interest will close on Friday 13 June
The athletes will be selected primarily from the 2011 emus and gems squads.
Expression of Interests should include a resume detailing coaching experience and experience working with this age group. Following the closure of expressions of interest on June 13 Basketball Australia may hold interviews for the positions.
