SEABL announces new board structure

Due to the sudden death of Hugh McMenamin, the SEABL Board of Management has appointed Simon Brookhouse to undertake the role of SEABL President until the Annual League Meeting in November. Simon has been a valuable member on the SEABL

Due to the sudden death of Hugh McMenamin, the SEABL Board of Management has appointed Simon Brookhouse to undertake the role of SEABL President until the Annual League Meeting in November.

Simon has been a valuable member on the SEABL Board for the past five years.  Simon has a wealth of basketball knowledge, as a player, coach and referee.  Brookhouse is employed in the banking and finance industry and has a passion for SEABL and basketball in this country.

“It is an honour to take on this role with the league currently in such a strong and viable position within the basketball community, due to the great leadership and passion Hugh brought to the league. I look forward to maintaining SEABL as Australia’s Premier Winter Basketball League” said Simon Brookhouse.

The SEABL Board has also appointed Matthew Nunn to fill the vacant position on the SEABL Board.  Matt is a past player of the SEABL and currently Managing Director and Founder of Nunn Media.  Matt played 200 games with Ballarat, Bendigo and Broadmeadows between 1989 and 1999, and won a CBA National Championship with Ballarat in 1994 & 1995. 

The Current SEABL Board is Simon Brookhouse (President), Rick Petrie (Vice President), Brad Barnes (Director), Richard Snare (Director), Jenny Rawiller (Director), Jim Milligan (Director), Matt Nunn (Director), Tim Leedham (Director).
