The Australian government runs a program called the Australian Youth Ambassador for Development (AYAD) as part of its overseas aid program. 

FIBA Oceania, as a partner in the program, places qualified young Australians into Pacific Island Basketball Federations as a Basketball Development Officer. Over the past 6 years FIBA Oceania has placed AYAD’s in Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.

FIBA Oceania have applied for a position in Fiji, commencing September 2008, and they are now calling for applications from suitably keen and qualified basketball enthusiasts.

To apply, candidates should be:

1. Available to take up the assignment in September 2008 for a maximum period of 12 months.
2. Be an accredited level 1 coach, with a minimum of 4 years coaching experience.
3. Be computer literate, with some basketball administration experience if possible.
4. Be able to work unsupervised, and to motivate others.
5. Be aged 24 – 30 years of age.
