Media are advised that basketball star Penny Taylor will arrive at Melbourne Airport on United Airlines flight 839 at 9:35am tomorrow morning (Thursday).
Taylor scored 30 points to lead Phoenix Mercury to their maiden WNBA Championship in the United States on Monday after her team trailed 2-1 in the best-of-five series.
Last September she was voted the Most Valuable Player at the 2006 FIBA World Championship for Women ahead of her Australian Defence Force Opals team mate Lauren Jackson.
Taylor will be in Australia for two weeks before jetting off to Russia to play for UMCC Ekaterinburg in the Russian women’s league and Euroleague.
Two other Australian Defence Force Opals, World Champion Kristi Harrower and 2004 Olympian Suzy Batkovic, are also on the Ekaterinburg roster.
