Basketball Australia is pleased to announce the 18 athletes selected to attend a 10-day training camp on the Gold Coast.
The camp, to be held at The Southport School*, begins tomorrow and continues until Friday, July 20.
A press conference to open the camp will be held at 3pm on Friday at The Southport School and attended by Boomers Head Coach Brian Goorjian and players Jason Smith and David Andersen.
Andersen, an Olympian in 2004 and a European Champion many times over, recently returned from team duties with CSKA Moscow to play with the Boomers.
NBA Summer League players Brad Newley and Luke Schenscher will join the camp early next week.
A 12-man team for the Boomers’ tour to Europe (July 28-August 13) will be announced at the conclusion of the camp, ahead of the 2007 FIBA Oceania Men’s Championship against New Zealand on August 20, 22 and 24 in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The winner of the series earns the right to play in Beijing in 2008.
