The Australian Under 21 Women’s basketball team, the Sapphires, will tonight take on the USA in the gold medal game of the 2007 FIBA World Championships for Under 21 Women in Vidnoje City, Russia.
The game tips-off at midnight AEST.
The Sapphires progressed to the final last night after defeating France 88-81 in the semi final and crushing Canada 98-57 in the quarter final the previous evening.
The Sapphires finished second in Group B after winning three of their four preliminary round matches with their only loss a last gasp 90-88 defeat to the US in the opening game of the tournament.
