Australian Opals Captain Lauren Jackson was named the Western Conference Player of the Week yesterday for the week ending Sunday July 1.
Jackson’s performance raised her Overall Player Ranking from second place to first after seven weeks of WNBA competition.
It is the second time Jackson has received the Player of the Week award and the ninth time in her seven year WNBA career.
Jackson averaged 23.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game over three games, including a 33-point haul against the Chicago Sky.
The Aussie superstar will play her 200th WNBA game at 11:30am AEST this morning against the Los Angeles Sparks, broadcast on ESPN.
Jackson’s Seattle Storm team currently sits in fourth place in the Western Conference with an 8 win – 7 loss record.
She is averaging 22.7 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game after 14 games this season.
