World Champion defencejobs Opal Kristi Harrower has led her French club side Valenciennes to their seventh consecutive minor premiership.
Playing in her fifth French season, the pint-sized playmaker averaged 8.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.3 steals over 25 games.
Advancing straight to the quarter final round, Valenciennes will begin their playoff push on April 25.
They were runners-up in 2006 and Champions in 2005.With a toughness that defies her 163cm stature, Harrower led the Opals to a Gold Medal at the 2006 FIBA World Championship for women in Brazil last September.She has represented Australia at two Olympic Games 2000; Athens,2004 and three World Championships (1998, 2002, 2006).While on scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport in 1993 she led the Australian Junior Women’s team to a Gold Medal at the 1993 FIBA World Championship for Junior Women, in Korea.Last month she was named to the 26-woman 2007 defencejobs Opals squad, which will be reduced ahead of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing
