BA President John Maddock re-elected

Following a golden year in 2006, John Maddock was re-elected as President of Basketball Australia at the Annual General Meeting in Sydney on Saturday.

Maddock has been President of BA since 1997 and will continue in the role for a further two year term.

The announcement reflects the outstanding work and leadership that Maddock has displayed over the past 10 years and reinforces the States’ and Territories’ confidence in Maddock and the Basketball Australia Board of Directors.

Under Maddock’s guidance, Australia has risen to the unprecedented rank of number 2 in the world of 213 nations that play basketball.

In the one other election of the day, Dan Kirtley was re-elected to the Basketball Australia Board of Directors.

Kirtley, who was elected President of Basketball Victoria in May 2006, has been a Director of Basketball Australia since 2002.

The Board of Basketball Australia remains: John Maddock (President), Dan Kirtley, Libby Woods, Shelley Lambert, John Davidson, Ken Madsen, Lois Appleby, Scott Derwin (CEO).
