World Champion defencejobs Opal Jenny Whittle has signed with the Rockhampton Hog’s Breath Cafe Cyclones for the 2007 Queensland Australian Basketball League (QABL) season.

Whittle, 33, joins the club after spending the summer with Hungarian club side Mizo Pecs.

The 197cm centre will have just under one month to prepare for the QABL, which commences on Saturday, April 21.

Whittle was an integral member of the defencejobs Opals unbeaten run at the FIBA world championships in Brazil in September.

She hit two crucial three point baskets in the final against Russia, giving Australia a lead which they never surrendered, going on to win gold 91-74.

She is yet to commit on her plans for the upcoming WNBL season, but there has been some talk that she will re-sign with the Canberra Capitals.

Earlier this month, Whittle was named to the 2007 defencejobs Opals squad.
