The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is preparing to host its third Our Sporting Future Forum at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 21-23 March 2007.
Held every second year, the forum attracts delegates from sport and sport related industries across Australia and internationally to address current issues in Australian sport through topical panel discussions.
The 2007 forum will feature international and Australian speakers including:
Bernard Salt - Partner of KPMG and one of Australia’s leading demographers
Dr Andy Miah - Reader in ethics, technology and culture at the University of Paisley, Scotland
Janine Allis - Managing Director and founder of Boost Juice Bars
Steve Wood - Chief Executive Officer, Tennis Australia
Michael Haynes - General Manager, Community Basketball, Basketball Australia
Jan Stirling - defencejobs Opals world championship winning Head Coach
The team captains for the great 'sporting' debate are also confirmed. Radio personalities Adam Spencer and Amanda Keller will argue the topic: Athletes don't win medals, scientists do!
The latest addition to forum has been the confirmation of Lisa Wilkinson, Channel Seven's Weekend Sunrise presenter, as the forum MC and Vince Sorrenti, one of Australia's best known comedians will entertain guests at the Gala Dinner.
Topics to be discussed include; ‘Participation and Volunteerism in the Future’, ‘The Rise and Success of Football in Australia’ and a ‘CEO address’ featuring selected industry CEOs discussing how they plan to lead their organisations into the future.
The forum aims to stimulate new ideas, challenge your thinking and provide you with practical information that you can apply to your organisation.
