Basketball WA gets new CEO
Following the December retirement of Ron Wright, former Basketball NZ Board member Andy Bennett has been named the new CEO of Basketball WA, effective immediately.
Bennett survived a robust recruitment process and will bring a skill set and style to the role that will build and evolve the administration of basketball in Western Australia, following on from the solid financial platform laid by Ron and his team.
He brings to the role his background as an international player with the New Zealand Tall Blacks as well as governance and operational experience as a Basketball NZ Board member.
In addition, Bennett has many years of experience in the commercial marketplace, having previously held management positions with multinational companies.
Bennet recently relocated to WA with his partner and 3 year old son and is totally committed to adding value to the state basketball infrastructure, specifically the opportunities that lie ahead for the sport in WA.
Please join Basketball Australia in wishing Andy all the best in his new role.
